SHARE A PHOTO WITH A WINDOW.

These pillars framing a view of the entrance to our city, form a window on familiar territory.  When entering Dunedin (New Zealand) from the north, you sweep down the hill through lush bush and overlook the city, its harbour and out to the beautiful beaches of the coast.  It truly is a beautiful city to enter.  I think a future post will have to have some of these views looking over Dunedin.  But today is a nostalgic post, a glimpse through a window at the piece of road that brings forth a chorus from the backseat, “we’re home!”

There is nothing like the feeling of coming home!

Another window, another glimpse… This time the window is in words, but the images are rich.

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. (Revelation 22:1-5, ESV)

There will be nothing like the ultimate coming home!
