What does ‘beyond’ mean to you?
When it comes to my photography the ‘beyond’ is significant. These are a selection of shots from our summer holiday where the ‘beyond’ makes the photo. Without the background detail, be it blurred or clear the photo would be simple, even boring. The ‘beyond’ tells part of the story, so you don’t want to ignore it or crop it out.
Life can be a bit like that. We can spend so much attention on the now that we forget the past and fear the future. We almost crop out that ‘beyond’ perspective in order to deal with today. I like to remember what the Apostle Paul says in Philippians…
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
A call to look ‘beyond’ the now, to press on toward the goal. How much attention do you pay to the beyond in your life? Do you spend time thinking of what is ahead, beyond this life?
I am so thankful for the assurance of what Christ has done for me that I can face the beyond with this same certainty as Paul. Don’t ignore the details of the beyond. They are as important in life, as they are in a photo.
This weeks photo challenge over at wordpress is “share a picture which means beyond to you”.
